We are so pleased to introduce you to Sue Morgan. Sue has agreed to take on the task of initiating a mentoring program for dental hygiene students!
In order to get this program going, Sue needs RDHs to volunteer to serve as mentors to the students. Mentors help students by being a sounding board and answering questions they have about working in the real world. To volunteer, please contact:

**********Call for Delegates********
Cadhs has 3 immediate openings for delegates to fill positions left open when the delegates were elected to other positions. (We are victims of our own success ;*)
Delegates are assigned 10 members to contact and keep informed of important issues. They attend the House of Delegates in October, discussing and voting on issues of policy and electing the state leadership. They also attend 2 to 4 meetings per year (evenly spaced) and enjoy the President’s Luncheon at the HOD with all its’ yummy food.
To serve as a delegate, contact your Trustees Laura Corbin and Mary Cosaboom: corbinfrerichs@gmail.com cherrytree@earthlink.net
Professional Issues update: the ASDHA council on Dental Hygiene Regulations and Practice is keeping informed on any new developments and legislation that affect Arizona RDHs. You will recall that last year legislation had been introduced by the AZDA to create a CHC(community health coordinator). This was AZDAs approach to solving the problems of poor access to dental care that exist in most rural areas in Arizona. Due to problems with legalities the legislation was withdrawn. The ASDHA has since met with AZDA president Anita Elliot and offered the services of Affiliated Practice Dental Hygienists to fill the needs of the underserved. Currently, there is no legislation on the table, but the AZDA is considering asking for the creation of a “COHR” (community oral health representative, I believe) which we will watch carefully.
Want to learn more? you are invited to attend an upcoming ASDHA board meeting!
Please contact Sharon Zastrow if you wish to attend......zrdh@msn.com
