I then completed my master's degree at the University of Toronto in 1987. I went back to school in 2001 and graduated with my Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene Science in 2003. I have taught most of my adult life and it came natural to me to teach at Rio Salado College in the Dental Hygiene Program. Presently I am the first year clinical instructor at Rio Salado College. I like to garden and do stained glass as a hobby. I believe strongly in our role as healthcare providers and am proud to be a member of ADHA

I have a PRECIOUS ten-year-old daughter, Alisza who has been there for mommy through thick and thin as I further my education in my career. I plan to continue my education, by obtaining my Masters in Education to allow me to continue to teach Dental Hygiene. I have a passion for teaching and giving that will be allowed expression in this way. Additionally, I plan to spend as much time as possible in Mexico, El Salvador, and other underprivileged areas, giving donation of my services: teaching and performing dental hygiene for those far less fortunate.

I served 8 years as president of San Gabriel Valley component in Calif. and 4 years as Trustee. In 1999, Bruce and I moved to Anthem and I now work for the wonderful periodontist Vanessa Mariho. I just returned from a vacation on the Big Island with my 3 married off spring and their spouses to celebrate our 25th anniversary. I have enjoyed being secretary and delegate for CADHS because I think it is so important for dental hygienists to be in a strong professional organization. We have three grandchildren here that we enjoy so much and two in Illinois that we miss dearly. I am a former delegate to the house in Ill. and look forward to serving in Arizona as both the needs and opportunities in the state continue to grow.

We did this 3 years ago so I could have something to do later on as I have had carpel tunnel in both hands & shoulder surgeries. I also thought I might like it but I miss hygiene.”

I will be teaching a class in the Dental Assisting Program at Phoenix College this Fall semester. I have a husband and two wonderful daughters 14 and 16 years old who give me great support in my new career as a dental hygienist. One of my favorite hobbies is hiking with my family.

I began my dental career in 1987 working as a dental assistant, trained on the job. I graduated from the hygiene program at Phoenix College in 2005 and have been working in private practice ever since. I split my days between 2 offices and work 4-5 days/week. I absolutely love dental hygiene and wish I would have gone back to school sooner. I have been married for 18 years and we have 2 daughters: Rebecca age 16 and Amanda age 13. I over-volunteer as most of us A-typers do and enjoy my time working with whatever clubs my girls belong to. In my spare time (haha) I do enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking, and try to get away on several road trips throughout the year. I also love shopping, being pampered and someday hope to start scrapbooking.
