Continuing Education

Arizona dental hygienists are required to take 54 hours of CE every three years for relicensure. The following are the continuing education rules for Arizona dental hygienists:

Minimum of 34 hours in dental and medical health, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and dental hygiene services, periodontal disease, care of implants, maintenance of cosmetic restorations and sealants, radiology safety and techniques, managing medical emergencies in addition to CPR and new concepts in dental hygiene.

No More than 14 hours in dental hygiene practice organization and management, patient management skills and methods of health care delivery.

Minimum of 2 hours in one or more of the following areas: chemical dependency, tobacco cessation, ethics, risk management and jurisprudence.

Minimum of 4 hours in infectious disease and infectious disease control.

Fire Station #50	20225 N. 35th Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85027	The fire station is just north of the 101 freeway. You cannot exit at 35th Avenue coming from the East 101 freeway. Exit 27th Avenue & take the access road, which is actually Beardsley Rd.
Foothills Library (Hummingbird Room)	19055 N. 57th Ave. Glendale, AZ 85308 623-930-3830	The library is located at 57th Avenue & Union Hills Drive. Exit the West 101 freeway at 59th Avenue & go south to Union Hills. Turn left/east onto Union Hills Drive & turn left/north onto 57th Avenue.
