Following is information from our current email newsletter:
1. Hello All! For those of you planning on attending May’s Social/Study Club, please read the following notice in its entirety as there have been several important changes!!
As you know, if you have been attending the CADHS’ Social/Study Clubs, we have been splitting at the seams at the location we have been using this past year! Well, we are moving to a new location, beginning May 2, which will be open exclusively for our group! We’ll meet for our Social from 6-7, to be followed by our Study Club from 7-8.
Everybody will have a seat, there will be no background noise and the food will be awesome and a great deal! We need at least 25 people eating to do this. The NEW location is the Rustic Café, 20811 N. Cave Creek Road, Suite 104, Phoenix (602-404-4100) and it is just north about one mile of our present location. The Rustic Café owners are very happy to accommodate our needs. It will be a buffet which will include 2 entrees, 2 sides, a salad and your drink for only $9.99! (plus gratuity to the server PLEASE.)
They need to prepare for us, so as soon as you know that you will coming AND EATING, please RSVP to CentralAZDentalHygienists@gmail.com. Also, we are inviting all significant others to come and join in for the buffet. The restaurant is divided, so when our Study Club begins, our friends and family can choose to stay or visit Desert Ridge Shopping Center 5 minutes away. Also, The Rustic Cafe said that our attendees could bring their own wine etc, for the next couple of meetings while they are waiting for their liquor license.
We have to have a minimum of 25 people ordering the buffet meal to make this happen. Our next meeting is Wednesday, May 2nd featuring Linda Rawls, RDH, speaking on the topic "Diabetes and Oral Care".
One c.e.u. will be awarded, FREE OF CHARGE to CADHS members with a nominal fee of $10.00 for non-members – PLEASE NOTE THIS INCREASE IN FEE FOR NON-MEMBERS!!!

2. CADHS is selling very cute cactus suckers for $3.00 each in lime and watermelon flavors. They’ll make great gifts for your staff, friends, relatives, colleagues, etc. They’ll be for sale at our Social/Study Clubs and our c.e. classes. Send your friends a reminder that you live in the desert and purchase a sucker to support CADHS fundraisers.
3. A 4-hour Medical Emergency Course is to be offered which can meet the requirement for Arizona’s Affiliated Practice RDHs and is open to all hygienists. Many RDHs have requested a 4-hour c.e. class on Medical Emergencies to meet the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiner’s requirement for c.e. on this topic for Affiliated Practice. If there are 10 or more RDHs interested in taking this program, CADHS will meet that need for you. The date will be Saturday morning, May 19th and it will be a hands-on program so you will be proficient in knowing how to administer all medications etc. The cost will be $50.00.
